Traditions That Bring Generations Together.

For families, East Cape Beach & Surf Club becomes a wonderland teeming with untold experiences that appeal to all generations. The beach-side Kid’s Camp is a magical outpost for water and sand adventures that cater to the club’s youngest members.

Like the beloved summer camps most parents flocked to in their day, the Kid’s Camp is a world that encourages fun and educative experiences in the wild. Activities run the gamut from tent camping under the stars, beach bonfires, scavenger hunts and sand castle competitions, to movie nights, constellation outings, animal tracking, ocean labs and classes in water safety. Famous surfers drop by to give beginners lessons on mellow waves — a rare treat fit for East Cape Beach & Surf Club’s sheltered waters.

Teens hang out at their own exciting Under 21 Club, where they can play deejay or record their own CDs. A game room and Internet café add to the opportunities to keep older kids entertained and to give them a chance to form their own close friendships.

Monthly adventure cruises, family sporting tournaments and parties at the pool offer further ways for the whole family to get together and enjoy life, Baja-style. Kids of all ages get a chance to meet mentors, embrace new values and make friends from different places. Parents find new ways to relate to their children, free from everyday distractions.

The Soulful Pleasures of Sun, Sand and Surf.

Steps from the private villas beckons one of Mexico’s best-kept secrets—a veritable waterfront playground composed of nearly deserted beaches, a near-legendary surf break and Baja’s most swimable waters.

Few beaches the world over are as well-suited for every kind of water sport and activity imaginable. The natural phenomenon of waves breaking a hundred yards offshore creates the ultimate environment for both swimming and surfing.

Families with kids flock to gentle and playful waves that lap the sands. Beginning, intermediate and experienced surfers alike relish varied wave conditions that suit all skill levels on East Cape Beach & Surf Club’s three surf breaks and a half-dozen others nearby. Snorkelers and divers are drawn to the dazzling parade of sea creatures that inhabit the Sea of Cortez—dubbed “the world’s aquarium” by the late Jacques Cousteau. Further underwater wonders await at the shipwreck of the “El Morelia,” resting a mere 100 feet off the East Cape Beach & Surf Club beach.

The possibilities for communion with the world’s most abundant sea are virtually endless. Angle legendary waters in search of trophy-sized marlin, billfish, dorado, tuna and the occasional yellowtail or roosterfish—800 varieties of fish call the Sea of Cortez home. Tackle windsurfing and kite boarding in a place brimming with places to launch and land, and considered one of the world’s best spots to learn. Seek out a remote spot for sunbathing and beachcombing. Charter one of the club’s fleet of private Pongas and launch from the beach for some of the world’s best catch-and-eat fishing. Indulge in swimming, sailing, kayaking or sand volleyball. Stroll the Sea of Cortez by moonlight. Spot gray whales, leatherback turtles, dolphins, manta ray and sea lions. Hop on one of the club’s complimentary beach cruiser bikes. Or simply kick back under a shady palapa or cabana —there’s no shortage of private retreats on the club’s warm sands.

La Frontera: Chasing Adventure on the Vast Frontier.

Just beyond one’s front door, the East Cape Region offers a new frontier ripe for exploration. Tee off on one of five championship-caliber golf courses in Los Cabos. Take an exhilarating tour of the backcountry on motorcycles or ATVs.

Head to the surrounding foothills for prime hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Go bird watching in land teeming with more than 200 species of bird life, including egrets, herons, pelicans and ring-necked ducks. Explore the nearby Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park—the only living coral reef system in western North America—where savvy snorkelers and scuba divers can witness an amazing array of colorful reef fish, eel colonies, whale sharks, giant mantas and tortugas (sea turtles). Trek solo or arrange for a guided eco-tour through the club concierge.

For an authentic taste of old Cabo, take a 30 minute drive and spend the day in serene San José del Cabo to peruse its 18th-century town hall and tidy pedestrian-friendly streets lined with restored Spanish Colonial-era houses. Discover the beauty of its sleepy cantinas, laid-back ambiance and Saturday evening fiestas in shady Plaza Mijares.

East Cape Beach & Surf Club makes an incredible base camp for members who love being in nature, crave the exhilaration of the outdoors and are always eager to heed the call of the wild. It’s also an ideal place to give a new adventure a shot, since crowds and competition are virtually non-existent.
